Whether you’re traveling to the Roadshow locations from WA or interstate we’ve lined up lots of things to support your trip and to break down any barriers to attending the event!
It’s going to be an epic week full of fun, adventure and social activities.
The Roadshow Guide breaks down all the travel components and important information about riding at the various locations. Please read all the info carefully!
If you plan to use the event transport and accommodation options, we recommend:
Flights are available in and out of Busselton Airport from Melbourne, however only on limited days (Saturday, Monday & Wednesday) and with Jetstar. We are unfortunately not offering transport to and from Busselton Airport, however if you have a group of you that are considering this option, please contact us directly to discuss options.
If it’s your first time travelling with your bike, don’t worry we have some things in place to help!
Depending on the airline you fly with, you will likely need to purchase an additional bag for your bike and then pay for overweight baggage at the airport when you arrive.
Individual luggage weight limits are 23kg. Most bikes once in a bike bag or box will weight between 25 – 30 kg. You will then most likely need to pay an additional $50 at the airport for any bags weighing above 23kg.
Each airline has different rules, so please check with them
Trek Belmont will be able to assist with building your bike when you arrive and repacking after the Roadshow. They will also store your bike bag / box for you for the duration of the Roadshow. Please contact us via email to arrange booking in for bike packing / build support and for storing of bike bags.
We are aiming to have mechanic support at most, if not all, of the locations where free bike checks will be available so you can make sure everything is safely working.
Transport is an optional extra in your Roadshow ticket, please see details under “Transport Support” below. One of our providers will pick you up from designated locations and take you to the trail networks and back to your accommodation. Transport is a great option to reduce fatigue, we're doing a heap of riding and the driving on top can be a lot.
Some venues will offer a cheeky post ride beverage and we want everyone to be safe in their travels.
If you plan to hire a car or drive yourself we also recommend staying at the above locations as they are most central to the trail networks we are visiting. You can still opt to use the transport support to some locations and do a combination of self driving and Roadshow transport. Seats on the Roadshow transport must be booked and purchased when you purchase your tickets.
Please be aware WA is a large state and travel between some locations can between 30 min up to 3 hours. Travel on some days of the Roadshow can be up to 4.5 hrs on the road.
We recommend if you plan to drive yourself that you download your maps before leaving as reception in some locations is patchy / limited particularly in the South West and Kalamunda Hills.
Below is a list of distance and travel time between the designated trail locations and the recommended accommodation locations.
The Roadshow transport will be available for the following travel routes and dates:
Transport support will be available from the designated accommodation locations out to each of the riding locations.

Great Eastern Motor Lodge & Trek Belmont for Perth locations and transport to the South West from Perth. Linga Longa Estate (Balingup) for South West locations.
If you are attending the Perth / South West Roadshow and planning to use the event transport we recommend flying into Perth Airport and staying at the Great Eastern Motor Lodge or one of the hotels / motels along Great Eastern Hwy within a 2-3 km proximity.
You can book transport during the booking process as an “extra” to your Roadshow ticket. Please book your ticket carefully and include required extras. If you miss something in your booking process, you will need to contact us directly to have this added to your booking. Places for transport must be pre booked.
You can choose to stay wherever you like, however we have partnered with two accommodations options to make things as simple as possible for people who intend to utilise transport. We recommend basing yourself at a central location as explained below.
Belmont is an inner city suburb in Perth that is close to the airport (15 min) and a central location to the metro trails and riding locations. We have partnered with Great Eastern Motor Lodge to get a discounted per night stay.
Linga Longa Bike Park / Estate in Balingup is currently the only private bike park in Western Australia that has glamping, camping and all the basic amenities. It is about 3 hours south of Perth and is a central space within 30 min to 1.5 hr of all trail networks we will be visiting. We have partnered with Linga Longa Estate to be open for the duration of the event for camping and glamping. All of our South West transport will leave and return from Linga Longa Estate.
Please be aware the trails at the bike park are not open during the week and not permitted to be ridden outside of the allocated ride dates on Sat 28th October & Sun 29th Oct.

If you are travelling solo, you’re about to meet a rad bunch of new friends! Please get in touch with us if you have any questions. We have tried to put as much in place to make you feel safe and comfortable joining our Roadshow.
We always recommend riding in a minimum of pairs for safety reasons, so please join the social rides where possible and link up with a new buddy if you plan to free-ride outside of the social group activities.
Please ensure you have an emergency backup plan if traveling solo – see our safety information section for advice.
If you are travelling as a group please ensure you book at the same time to avoid missing out as ticket sales will be limited. If you are travelling in a large group of >4 riders and there are insufficient tickets available – please contact us.
We appreciate that sometimes plans change. We unfortunately are not able to give refunds if you no longer require assistance with transport. However it is very important that you let the organisers of the event know if you plan to get a lift with someone else. We will be doing a check of all people being transported at the start and end of each day, if you are not able to make it or have decided to get a lift with someone else please notify WA Gravity Girls either via email or through social media on Facebook Messenger.
Whilst food and drink will be at your own expense during the Roadshow, we’ve lined up some delicious food options. We are still finalising some of the food vendors that will be available, but for now here is a rough plan!

You will have the option to lock your bike up at the event village or the transport bus and go explore the local areas. Please be aware that leaving your bike is at your own risk, though we will endeavour to have someone with the bikes at all times.
Below are a few local attractions available in the areas we are visiting. Please be aware accessing these activities is not part of the Roadshow and if undertaken is done so at your own risk.
John Dunn Challenge Park – Kelmscott
Calamunnda Trails Hub – Kalamunda / Piesse Brook
Goat Farm – Greenmount
Meelup & Country Club Trails – Dunsborough
The club also has a number of other accessible activities including: Tennis, Golf, Bowls, Croquet – these incur additional costs.

Pemberton MTB Park – Pemberton
Pemberton townsite is less than 1 km from the MTB Trail network. Pop in and explore some of the towns attractions:
If you want to cool off, take a dip in the Pemberton Public Pool (please be aware swimming is at your own risk, there are no life guards on duty).
Tank 7 & Tank 8 MTB Park – Nannup
Nannup townsite is 3.5 km from the Tank 7 trail network. Pop into town and explore some of the local attractions:
Linga Longa Bike Park / Estate – Balingup
Enjoy the relaxing serenity of the estate, if you’ve had enough riding:
Toilets will be available at all locations, however please be aware that many locations do not have running water or may only have portable toilets / long drop toilets available. It is important to make sure you take adequate drinking water with you at locations where running water is not available.
John Dunn Challenge Park – Kelmscott
Calamunnda Trails Hub – Kalamunda / Piesse Brook
Goat Farm – Greenmount
Meelup & Country Club Trails – Dunsborough
Woodjitup Trails – Margaret River
Pemberton MTB Park – Pemberton
Tank 7 & Tank 8 MTB Park – Nannup

*Please note charging of eBike batteries / phones is to be done during daylight hours where possible as the estate operates solely off solar power. Kettles and other high power appliances should not be plugged into any power outlets at the park at any time as this will affect the power circuit of the whole property.
Getting to Linga Longa Estate requires travel on gravel roads. If you are not confident driving on gravel roads we would recommend you take up our transport options.
You are responsible for your own personal safety, please consider your safety first before helping someone else in need. When freeriding it is recommended that you ride in pairs to ensure you have someone that can assist in the unlikely event of an accident.
If you require assistance / first aid there will be a first aid kit at the WA Gravity Girls event village tent and senior first aid support will be available if required. Please be aware all of our event first aiders are volunteers and not a medical service. In the event of an injury, if it is a non-life threatening injury, please contact the event emergency phone number for assistance. If the injury or concern is life-threatening please call 000 first and then contact the emergency phone for assistance whilst awaiting for emergency services to arrive. We do recommend riders carry basic first aid equipment whilst riding, especially in more remote locations.
In the event that you need to go to hospital, please notify the event organisers as soon as possible. Please be familiar with your injury insurance cover before attending the event. If you have AusCycling / West Cycle / Private Health Insurance you may be covered to claim some medical costs back in the event you are injured. Please be aware that if your require transport in an ambulance you may incur a fee in Western Australia.
Perth Metro: There are several major public hospitals nearby within 10 – 30 min of each location. Armadale, Midland, Royal Perth, Fiona Stanley.
South West: The major hospital for the South West is Bunbury Health Campus. In the event of an injury and requiring hospital presentation via ambulance you will likely be taken to the nearest hospital first. Please be aware that most of the regional hospitals are small and do not have large resourcing. Below is a list of the closest hospital to each riding location:
In the event of an emergency please return to the event village at each location and await instructions from the event organisers / emergency marshals. Do not leave the location as this can put you at a higher risk and affect emergency services accessing the location.
Please remain at the event village until directed by the event organisers that you are safe to leave the venue or return to your riding activities. Please see below for a list of muster points for each riding location:
In the event of severe weather or storm activities at the Roadshow may need to be halted, postponed or cancelled. If there is lightning all riding activities and shuttles will need to be ceased until the lightning has passed.
If extreme heat is forecast timing of events may be changed to ensure rider safety and minimise heat exposure and risk of heat exhaustion. The weather in Western Australia can be unpredictable and we can experience hot and humid temperatures even in October.
Please ensure you have adequate water with you when riding, we recommend carying a water bottle or hydration pack at all times. We also encourage you to be Sunsmart and where possible wear long sleeve shirts and pants, hats and sunscreen. We will have sunscreen available at the WA Gravity Girls event tent thanks to one of our generous sponsors, We are feel good inc.
