Whether you’re travelling to the Roadshow locations from WA or interstate we’ve lined up lots of things to support your trip and to break down any barriers to attending the event!
Flying to Perth
If you plan to use the event transport and recommended accommodation options, we recommend:
– Flying in and out of Perth Airport
– Staying in Belmont for the Perth Roadshow
– Staying at Linga Longa Estate for the South West Roadshow
(please see accommodation and transport sections for further details)
Flying to Busselton
Flights are available in and out of Busselton Airport from Melbourne, however only on limited days (Wed, Saturday & Monday) and with Jetstar. We are unfortunately currently not offering transport to and from Busselton Airport, however if you have a group of you that are considering this option, please contact us directly to discuss your options.
If it’s your first time travelling with your bike, don’t worry we have some things in place to help!
Flying with bikes:
Depending the airline you fly with generally you will need to purchase an addition bag for your bike and then pay for overweight baggage at the airport when you arrive if you bag weighs more than 23 kg. For example:
Virgin Airways – You will need to purchase an extra bag for your luggage which is approx $70 (unless you a are a silver velocity member and above and you automatically receive 2 x checked bags when travelling).
Individual luggage item weight limits are 23 kg. Most bikes once in a bike bag or box will weight between 25 – 30 kg. You will then most likely need to pay an additional $50 at the airport for any bags weighing above 23kg.
Each airline has different rules, so please check with them
Building / packing bikes:
Trek Belmont will be able to assist with building your bike when you arrive and repacking after the Roadshow. Please reach out to them as early as possibly to book this in. You will also be able to store your bike bag / box with Trek for the week of the Roadshow. If you have any issues with arranging this please contact us via email.
We will are aiming to have mechanic support at most if not all of the locations where free bike checks will be available so you can make sure everything is safely working.
Transport is available as part of your Roadshow ticket (optional extra), please see details under “Transport Support” section. One of our providers will pick you up from designated locations and take you to the trail networks and back to your accommodation. We recommend you use the transport support where possible as the days can be long. With lots of riding we want to minimise fatigue where possible for attendees.
We will also have some venues that offer alcoholic beverages post rides and we would like attendees to be safe in their travels. Transport is there not only to help riders with fatigue management but to also enable you to have a beverage after your ride and get back to the accommodation locations safely.
If you plan to hire a car or drive yourself we also recommend staying at the above locations as they are most central to the trail networks we are visiting. You can still opt to use the transport support to some locations and do a combination of self driving and Roadshow transport. Seats on the Roadshow transport must be booked and purchased when you purchase your tickets.
Please be aware WA is a large state and travel between some locations can between 30 min up to 3 hours. Travel on some days of the Roadshow can be up to 4.5 hrs on the road.
